Metal Fabrication in jewelry creates one-of-a-kind pieces, nothing is cast or mass produced. I use traditional metal working skills of sawing, forging, forming, and soldering along with a bevy of metal working tools. Materials include metal sheet stock, tubing, and wire. To this I add finished gemstones, beads and unfinished rock or found objects.
Of particular interest to me is creating hollow form shapes, box construction, metal beads, hinges and cold connections. You will find these elements in my work. I also add texture to designs with depletion guilding, fusing and reticulation.
Perhaps what I enjoy the most of metal fabrication are the endless possibilities, the tools and the fun that experimentation brings.
I summer on Madeline Island Wisconsin, and winter in Fort Myers Florida with studios in both places and exhibit in fine galleries north and south.
