I began my career in the arts in 1970, first as a designer and now as an award winning acrylic painter.

While I love to paint birds and flowers my focus in the last few years has been on small format landscapes. It is a challenge to express a mood, a sense of place, in a limited amount of space.

The planted rows and distant hills of Minnesota farmland, the pines and waters of Northern Wisconsin, and Florida- where snowy fields become sandy shores. All these are embedded deep in my memory, and appear in my work as dreamlike paintings.
